Statutory declaration under Section 4(1) (b) of Right to Information (RTI) Act 2005

The Right to Information Act 2005 (Act No. 22 of 2005), enacted by the Parliament and come into force from 15 June 2005, empowers the citizen of India to access the information available with Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings, Local Bodies, Voluntary Organisations substantially benefited from the Government and Statutory Bodies under the law of the Government. The Act provides the right to information for citizens to access to information under the control of public authorities in order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority. All Universities and Colleges established by law made by Parliament or by State Legislature or by notification by the appropriate Government or owned, controlled or substantially financed directly or indirectly by funds provided by the Government shall come within the meaning of a public authority under this Act. Citizens can seek information regarding the activities of Kuriakose Elias College, Mnananam by submitting a written request with details like Name, Address, Contact telephone number and particulars of the information sought. The application under RTI Act shall be accompanied by the stipulated fee of Rs. 10/- (Rupees Ten only) in the prescribed manner.  The reason for seeking information need not be given.
