GOVT.SCHOLARSHIPS
POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP
Post matric scholarship scheme is intended to award scholarships to meritorious students from economically weaker sections of minority communities , thereby providing them better opportunities for higher education, increasing their rate of attainment in higher education and enhancing their employability.
Scholarship will be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardians from all sources does not exceed Rs.2.00 lakh.

CENTRAL SECTOR SCHOLARSHIPS
The “Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students” is implemented by the Department of Higher Education to provide financial assistance to the meritorious students from low income families to meet a part of their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of the results of Senior Secondary Examination. The parental/family income ceiling is Rs. 8 lakh per annum for all categories under the scheme.

POST GRADUATE INDIRA GANDHI SCHOLARSHIP FOR SINGLE GIRL CHILD
This scheme is implemented by UGC to support post graduate education of single girl child in postgraduate courses only. The scheme is applicable to single girl child up to the age of 30 years at the time of admission in first year of PG courses. The amount of fellowship is Rs.36,200/- p.a. for a period of two years only.

SUVARNA JUBILEE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP
The Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship for UG/PG programme is given by the Government of Kerala (Department of Collegiate Education) exclusively for students from Kerala who belong to economically backward family i.e. BPL (Below Poverty Line) to pursue higher education in Govt/ Aided colleges or University Departments.

STATE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP
State Merit Scholarship is awarded to meritorious first year students of the Under Graduate and Post Graduate Programmes in Government/ Aided Arts and Science Colleges and University Departments. The scholarship is funded by Directorate of Collegiate Education (DCE) , Government of Kerala.

SNEHAPOORVAM SCHOLARSHIP
Snehapoorvam Scholarship is offered by the Social Security Mission of Kerala for the students whose father or mother or both have passed away. This scholarship is limited to only students from Kerala. The main objective of the Snehapoorvam Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to such students to complete their education.

Aspire Scholarship is offered by Directorate of Collegiate Education (DCE), Government of Kerala to provide opportunities for post graduate students to pursue short term internships/projects in institutions other than their colleges/university departments.

Vidya Samunnathi Scholarship is offered by the Kerala State Welfare Corporation for Forward Communities Limited (KSWCFC) to provide a scholarship to the students who belong to economically backward forward communities.

Other Scholarships/Educational concession
University Merit Scholarship
All those who have secured 50% and above marks are eligible for theScholarship. There is no income limit. Although there is no prescribed application form for this Scholarship, the candidate, may submit an attested copy of the required marklist in the college office soon after getting admission.
NCERT Scholarship
Those who have won National Talent Search Scheme Test are eligible for the Scholarship. Annual income should not exceed Rs.50,000/ Application forms can be had from National Council of Education, Research and Training, Sree Aurobindo Marg, New Delhi-110016.
Hindi Scholarship
This Scholarship is available for students of Non-Hindi speaking states for studying Hindi beyond Plus Two level. Applicants should have passed previous exams. Filled in applications along with copies of mark lists should be submitted to the college office. Application forms can be had from the special officer for scholarship, Directorate of Collegiate Education (Annex), Sanskrit College Campus. Thiruvananthapuram – 695034, by sending a request with self-addressed, stamped envelope.
K.P.C.R. Fee Concession
All Students who come under the low income category as mentioned below can avail this scholarship.
IDC- Rs.1,00,000 , IPG- Rs.1,00,000
Applications should be submitted along with attested true copies of S.S.L.C. Book (1st page), mark lists and income certificate from the village officer. This is to be renewed every year.
Labour Welfare Scholarship
This is the eligible for children of the members of Kerala Labour Welfare Board. The application for this can be obtained from the Labour Welfare Fund Commissioner, Vazhuthakadu, Thiruvananthapuram – 34.
Fishermen Scholarship
This Scholarship is available only for the children of Fishermen and Fish Workers. There is no income limit. Scholarships should be renewed every year. Applications should contain a copy of the S.S.L.C. Book page No.1 and copies of certificates revealing educational qualifications. The eligible students should get counter signature on the application from the Fisheries Officer before it is submitted to the college office. The scholarship includes fees benefit, lumpsum grant and stipend.
OBC Education Concession
OBC Students with low income are eligible for stipends. Applications along with caste and income certificates should be submitted to the college office within 5 days of the beginning of the course. Application forms can be had from the college office. This should be renewed every year.
OEC Educational Concession
Students belonging to OEC are eligible for this stipend. There is no income limit. Lumpsum grant, stipend and fee concession are available for the eligible. They should obtain application forms from the college office at the time of admission by showing the caste certificate. Applications should be submitted within 5 days of the starting of the course.
SPH (Scholarship for the Physically Handicapped)
This Scholarship is available for those who have 40% physical disability. Income should not exceed Rs. 24,000/- They should obtain the application forms from the college office at the time of admission by showing a physician’s certificate revealing the disability. The filled in application forms should be submitted to the college office within 5 days of the commencement of the classes.
SC and ST Educational Concession
This is available for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students. They should obtain the application forms from the College office by showing the caste certificate. Filled in applications should be submitted to the college office within 5 days of the starting of the course. The Scholarship includes lumpsum grant, stipend and fees concession. This should be renewed every year.
