In accordance with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, an Anti-Ragging Committee has been established in the college to eradicate ragging in all its forms. The Committee’s mandate is to prohibit ragging by law, prevent its occurrence by adhering to these Regulations, and punish those who engage in ragging as stipulated in the Regulations and applicable laws. Ragging is defined as any conduct, whether spoken, written, or physical, that has the effect of teasing, treating, or handling any student with rudeness; engaging in rowdy or undisciplined activities that cause or are likely to cause annoyance, hardship, or psychological harm; inducing fear or apprehension in a fresher or junior student; or compelling students to perform acts that cause shame or embarrassment, thereby ad-versely affecting their physical or psychological well-being. Any violation of these regulations will be dealt with severely. Ragging is a criminal offense and is strictly prohibited within the institution. The college will take stringent action against individuals found guilty of ragging or abetting such behavior.
