M.SC. PSYCHOLOGY

The Post graduate programme in psychology was started in 2013. The aim of the programme is to carve and form young psychologists for the society to meet the demands for professionally manage behavioural issues and problems in the society. It is a professional aided programme of Mahatma Gandhi University. The intake  of students in an year is sixteen. All most all students are well placed as soon as they complete the programme. The PG programme enables students to form themselves as professionals to manage psychological issues. They are given training in counselling and clinical psychology. Students are given training in handling psychometry effectively. They are equipped and skilled to use various assessment scales and tests. Students are taught to administer various scales such as intelligence scales, personality assessment tests, attitude and aptitude tests, various capability assessment tests etc.

The programme is designed to complete in four semesters. The students are supposed to go for a training based learning programme as internship in various psychological settings such as psychiatry, industry etc. The syllabus of the PG curriculum was revised in the year 2019. The main papers handle in the programme are cognitive psychology, Neuro Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Pathology, Social Engineering, Personality theories, Psychometry, psychotherapy, Testing and Assessment. At present there are twenty four students continue their study in the department. Two batches already passed out from the department. Almost all are well placed in different psychological settings.
