History & Profile

The Post Graduate Department of English was founded  in the year 2015 and it imparts quality education in the field of language, literature and culture. In addition to the curriculum programmes, the Department undertakes various extension activities including communication skill development, soft skill development, creative writing, journalism, interactive sessions, capacity building in translation and make them competent for NET/SET and Civil Service examinations. Some students even got selected as content writers, film editors, film makers and actors. The department organises National Seminar and Poetry Workshop annually and it is of great attraction to students and teachers’ community across the nation.  .Every academic year the Department is successful to have maximum intake of students and best results for the outgoing as well. The Department even focuses on training in English teaching and placement for students in colleges, higher secondary departments and other institutions.

At present we have seven faculty members and among them three have PhD from prestigious universities of India including EFLU. There are poets, writers, critics, translators and exponents in art and culture. It always aims at making the department par excellent.
