Departmental Library

The department library is spacious is well-stocked and the collection has over 500 books. The latest publications in the fields of Business Studies, Economics, Commerce and Industry are continually added to the collection to equip students with a wide range of academic material.

Computer Lab

The department has a well-equipped computer lab. Commerce Lab facilities are provided with the objective of providing practical orientation to students while not only focusing on the theoretical aspects of the syllabus but also linking it with the documents, practicalities and procedures involved with the subject. The lab aims to provide practical exposure of the current process, procedures and practices followed by organizations in conducting Commercial practices businesses and expose the students to all their forms / formats / formalities. Internet facilities are provided in each computer. Printing and scanning facilities are also available through network. The computer lab is equipped with uninterrupted power backup.

ICT Enabled Classrooms

The teaching learning process in the department is based on ICT. The department uses advanced technology such as ICT in teaching in addition to traditional style of teaching at both UG and PG levels. The class-rooms have been upgraded with ergonomic lighting, seating arrangements, connectivity, audio-visual equipments etc. The class-rooms have however, retained its heritage ambience with its wooden furniture.

Entrepreneurship Development Club

Entrepreneurship Development Club functioning in the Department aims to inculcate “Entrepreneurship Culture”, amongst students and equip them with the skills, techniques and confidence to act as torch-bearers of “Enterprise” for the new generation .It organize interactive sessions with successful entrepreneurs from outside as well as within the State. It also organizes workshops/debates, industrial visits to business enterprises within/outside the State.

Add On Course – Computerized Accounting (Tally)

To offer comprehensive, contemporary and multi-disciplinary curriculum structured to equip the students with the knowledge, skills and tools needed to make them competitive in a global economic environment, the Department of Commerce offers add on course on computerized accounting package -Tally.

Tax Consultancy Services

As part of the extension activity the department offers tax consultancy services to the needy people free of cost.
