COMMERCE (SF)

The Department of Commerce (SF), K E College, Mannanam commence its academic functioning in the year 2013 with the recommendation of Mahatma Gandhi University syndicate, the Government has granted NOC for starting B.Com. (Computer Applications) and B.Com. (Finance & Taxation), Model-I programme.

During the year 2014, Dr. Jose V.S (Former HOD of Commerce & Vice-Principal, St.Stephens College, Uzhavoor) took charge as the Head of the Department. The department was elevated as Post Graduate Department in 2015 by sanctioning M.Com (Banking & Insurance) along with a second batch of B.Com. (Computer Applications) was also started. Thus the department commenced its full functioning from July 2015 onwards.

In the year 2020, Dr. George Joseph Nadackal (Former Professor, K E College, Mannanam) took charge as the Head of the Department. Now the department is blessed with 495 students and 17 teachers. Recently M.Com Banking and Insurance Programme was changed to M.Com, Finance and Taxation.

RESOURCES OF THE DEPARTMENT

Our department is graced with well qualified, motivated and dedicated teaching faculty with rich experience in teaching and research. Faculty members are very keen in updating their knowledge trough participating in refresher courses, national seminars and workshops etc. Some of us have publications in reputed journals and presented papers and foreign experience. The students and the faculty members of the department can access main library and two computer labs.
