Language Lab

Acquiring proficiency in language purely by mugging up academic particulars is a myth. The Department of English, Kuriakose Elias College realizes the hollowness of language education without proper phonetic and rhetorical exercises. In due consideration of this we have a well-equipped Language lab intended to assist the students in their Phonetics and Applied Linguistics sessions as well as the learning of grammar, diction and LSRW which is part and parcel of language education. It accommodates around 40 students and they are provided with adequate audio- visual aids to make the total language immersion possible. Language teaching and learning is made more appealing by screening an array of movies, short films, poetry recitals etc. in here. In addition students also are given a taste of online language learning platforms offered by British Council and the like, in order to assist their LSRW and Grammar learning. The language lab is also put to use to assist certain PowerPoint enabled classes. Language lab does a major role in stimulating and sustaining the English Teaching and Learning.

Library Facility

The College has a good collection of books and journals on various topics on Literature. The department also has portable library on wide array of topics including Linguistics, Theory, Fiction, Non-fiction and Criticism.
